|Bai Ling in Age of the Hobbits/Clash of the Empires|
A few events at Meta House
this coming month that are worth considering. My personal pick-outs, all starting at 7pm, are Wednesday 10 April, under the Saving The Planet banner, filmmaker Allan Michaud's Cambodia: Forests, Water, Life film is followed by Serengeti of Asia, both looking at water and the environment in Cambodia. Preah Vihear is under the spotlight on Wednesday 24 April in Panna Cheng's documentary Invasion or Misunderstanding? with a talk by the director and experts. Two nights later, Friday 26 April, you have the chance to see Age of the Hobbits or Clash of the Empires as it was renamed, the mockbuster film that was shot in Cambodia last year with actress Bai Ling unlikely to be at the screening, more's the pity. I must try and get along to this screening to review the film properly. Two exhibitions at the same location are also worth considering. Kulnapa Phumithanes' The Turning Point looks at old and new buildings in Phnom Penh from 7 April, whilst Thomas-Pierre focuses on the Angkor temples and the natural environment in his Perspective exhibit from 23 April.
