Paying homage

My photo of Vann Nath inspecting one of his own paintings, of himself, on the wall of Tuol Sleng
The Vann Nath Tribute book is on the bookshelves of Monument Books, Java and at Bophana Center. I saw it on Saturday but didn't have the cash on me to buy it. I will get it soon. With contributions by David Chandler and Rithy Panh, and many others who knew him or who were inspired by him, the book is a suitable homage to a great man, an inspiration and an artist of note. I had the privilege of spending time with Vann Nath whilst filming a documentary at Tuol Sleng of all places and he was remarkable in the way he handled his recollections of a time most of us would wish to forget. He was able to turn that horror into something constructive and he was taken from us way too soon.

Did you happen to notice who the book is published by? The PPPost piece today said it was published by The Friends of Vann Nath; I don't think of that group as a publisher, but these days I suppose one never knows.
