Good news for people like me who haven't got a hope in hell of understanding Khmer text, Google Translate
have added Khmer, as their 66th language. Last September, Lao was added and now Khmer has been awarded a place at the top table too. So, cut & paste will be the order of the day, though the paragraphs I've tried so far have been more miss than hit, at least you get the gist of the message, well most of the time. There are an estimated 16 million native Khmer speakers in the world, though the percentage of those with access to the internet must be relatively small in number. Google said that adding the language had
proved difficult because of a lack of Khmer resources on the web and
the fact that words aren’t usually separated by spaces.
