At last. It took me a couple of weeks, but I've finished reading Tom Knox's novel Bible of The Dead
(aka The Lost Goddess), set in Cambodia, Laos and elsewhere. Not exactly the 'they lived happily ever after' ending I'd expected. Overall it kept up a good pace throughout and there were a 1,001 references to Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, the temples and even Anlong Veng, not to mention the Khmer Rouge, oh and Paleolithic Caves of the European Ice Age. I also came across a new word, trepanning. You can read all about the author's trips to Cambodia to research the book at his website here
. Now, I'm already well into another Colin Cotterill novel set in Laos. The pile of books I have to read is not getting any smaller that's for sure.
