The CD of Bochan's
debut album, Full Moon Monday, is now available and it just so happens that the young lady herself is in Phnom Penh at this very moment. I'll try and track her down for a quick chat. It's an eclectic collection of eleven tracks from this fast-rising Cambodian-American indie-pop solo singer songwriter and includes a remake of the famous 'Chnam Oun 16'
track. Born in Cambodia and now living in Oakland, California, she grew up travelling around the US, singing in her father's Cambodian rock band. Now she's doing her own thing in collaboration with pianist and producer Arlen Hart. Find out more here
Another soon to arrive returnee is author Sue Guiney
, who will be putting some of the finishing touches to her next novel, set in Siem Reap and due out early next year. Guiney, who published A Clash of Innocents in 2010, her fictional account set in an orphanage, will also return to conduct a young writer's workshop at her favoured Anjali House in temple-town.
