Some of the Academy boys and their parents and guardians pose for photos
It was a momentous day for a group of football-mad youngsters and their parents as they gathered at Phnom Penh Crown's Tuol Kork training ground, as the club's residential Elite Football Academy
got underway. The afternoon saw a series of arrivals from all over the country, as the hand-picked members of Crown's 22-strong Academy arrived at their new home. Excitable youngsters, proud parents and coaches acting as guardians looked over the new living accommodation for the under-13 year old youngsters that includes a dormitory, study, medical and eating rooms as well as a shower and toilet block. They were introduced to their two house mothers and the Crown staff, led by Academy head coach Bouy Dary, before hearing more about how the Academy will work and the joint emphasis that will be placed on their academic schooling, alongside their football education. These boys will be the living the dream of every young boy in the country, learning to become a professional footballer - does it get any better than this? Everyone then posed for some photos before adjourning to a nearby restaurant for a meal to celebrate such a momentous day.
