Metfone madness

Metfone, one of the ISPs here in Cambodia, should be ashamed of themselves. A bunch of ISPs recently blocked access to the anti-government KI-Media blog and by doing so, they also denied access to all blogs hosted on the blogspot paltform. Most of them reinstated access to blogspot soon after but not Metfone. They are still blocking all access to blogspot and that means that Metfone subscribers in Cambodia cannot access my Kingdom of Football blog. Okay, I know that means about 2 of the 5 people that actually read it can't view it, but that's nearly 50% of my readership afterall. Anyway, a big black mark against Metfone, who actually sponsor the main football league competition here in Cambodia, even though they are owned by the Vietnamese military, apparently. Internet subscription in Cambodia is at an all-time high of 179,000 from a population of some 14 million, but there were only 30,000 in 2009. But if they are with Metfone, they are missing out big-time by not being able to read my football blog. What can I do about it? Diddly-squat as far as I know. There are ways of surfing the web through proxy sites like www.hideglobal.com I'm told but that's all I know. I am contemplating posting my football blog posts onto my main non-football blog, like the old days, but I'm concerned that will drive everyone away, leaving me with absolutely no readership whatsoever. Some people say that's the case already. I thumb my nose to those kill-joys. Anyway, boo-hoo to Metfone.

Thanks andy for answer to my question.

Another question to concerning office in Cambodia, Is it real censorship policy ?

or lack of ICT technology or software or web programmer in Metfone telecom company ?

My experiences living in neighboring country like Thailand, about 2 or 3 years ago, Thailand's ICT Ministry had blocked thousand of website who written article against their king.
They blocked the sites that make mistake to their govt policies and their king only. They didn't block a whole family of blogspot website like this.

Normal users of blogspot still access their own blog as usual.

I believe that there is sill a room to improve it!

As I know, a lot of Cambodian students graduated from abroad in ICT field. They can filled the lack of technology in Metfone Telecom Company.

Thanks,
Mol

A Metfone user in Siem Reap reports no blockage to my football blog as of today, which is good news as that means at least one of my 5 readers can see the crap I write about football :-)
However the blockage still applies for others, so I'm at a loss to understand the chicanery being undertaken by Metfone.

Excuse me, Andy, its a wholly different subject. I have noticed in some pictures of Khmer girls and women (including those detained at S-21 during the Pol Pot era), sometimes there are kind of circles painted on their foreheads - in red, so it seemed to me, though the pics were BW. A picture of a girl detained at S-21 posted in your blog some time ago also showed these circles. What are they? Its some kind of painting, or is it just a skin disease? Do they have some special meaning? Thanks for any clarification, and congrats for your delightful guide To Cambodia with Love, highlighted all over, since I'll be travelling there on March - Judy Baxter, from Knoxville, Tenn.
