Getting down to business
This is veteran news reporter James Loving with myself and Nick Ray (right). Loving has been producing news for National Radio in Cambodia for over a decade.
It was down to business at the sharp-end of the Asean Tourism Forum 2011 today, as the Travex officially began, booths were given their last spit & polish, buyers and interested parties wandered throughout the exhibition hall taking their fill of brochures and freebies and the deputy prime minister Sok An made a whirlwind tour with about thirty followers in tow. I sat through a couple of very mundane media briefings, had the internet fail on me twice in the media room, was given the cold shoulder at a lunch by Cambodia Angkor Air (so had to head to Lucky Burger instead) and called at a few booths to see some familiar faces, before I headed out for dinner at the FCC with a couple of visitors to town. Later I went to the Raffles party which was well attended though the music left a bit to be desired and I left early enough to get some shut-eye.
