A chock-a-block stage is crammed with Cambodian Space Project musicians at Equinox
Just in the door from another Cambodian Space Project
gig, this time at Equinox. Hot, sweaty and very loud is how I would sum it up. For much of the two-part performance, it was tough to make out Srey Thy's vocals with the heavy sound coming from the other eight members of the band. Which was a pity, as Srey Thy's voice and delivery is a very key element of any CSP gig. Nevertheless the band, and Thy, belted out all the usual favourites as well as a few new tunes and went on long into the night. A gig is set to take place at Chinese House later next month, for the official launch of their single, an advance copy of which I was given last night with its psychedelic coloured vinyl and picture sleeve.
