The professional Cambodian classical dance company, Khmer Arts Ensemble, will be performing twice in Phnom Penh before they head for a tour of the United States at the end of September. First up, they will perform Seasons of Migration at Chaktomuk Theatre on Saturday 24 July as part of the Cambodian-American 60 year celebration of close diplomatic ties. Seasons of Migration is one of the company's signature pieces and choreographed by the founder Sophiline Cheam Shapiro. It first toured major Stateside venues in 2005. They then have another Chaktomuk appearance, between 7-11 August as part of the Cambodian Youth Arts Festival. That performance will be The Glass Box, a solo dance piece with dancer Sothavy Khut. Half the company then head for the States and their first show on 25 September in Connecticut. Find out more about the Khmer Arts company here.
