Belle and her team come around it's worth seeing twice, just to make sure you take it all in and get your money's worth (even though the shows were free). This time I was in the 2nd row and could appreciate it far better than last night, when I was in row Z or something like that. I must say the guys did a great job on stage as did the trio of girls. The last time I saw Chanpisey, she was doing acrobatics on the Sovanna Phum stage, so hats off to her for putting in an almost flawless performance in contemporary dance too. Quite a mean feat. Belle led her team of seven dancers from the front with a couple of solo dances though she spread the responsibilities around the troupe so everyone had the chance to shine. Aiming to convey the different emotions of love, Aram was part of the Dansez Roam! series and the Chenla Theatre was once again almost full, re-affirming the decision to put it on for two nights at such a large venue. Intro's were in French and Khmer again, English rarely forms part of any show put on the CCF, which was disappointing. I also don't believe the pre-show chit-chat gave much detail about the performance everyone was about to see, which is something I think would enhance the experience for the audience. Contemporary dance is a brand new art form in Cambodia, people are only just seeing it for the 1st time, so it would help their enjoyment with more pre-show instruction. I sound like a broken record. It's obvious the French don't need or heed any advice.
